Our Story

As a self-taught, passionate photographer and creative myself, I aim to create spaces for other creatives to do what they do best, create.

However, as we creatives have come to find out, this is not the most accessible industry. That is why I am so passionate about each MUSE event.

With the help of my team and local venues, we are able to remove the logistical and financial barrier that holds many creatives back from being able to further their careers, passions and portfolios. My team handles all pre-production from curating each event's theme and coordinating set designs, team hiring, sourcing, construction and installation. This allows all attendees access to new inspiration, set designs, professional lighting and beautiful venues, that they may not have had access to otherwise. And of course, time to create with their community stress-free.

 FAQs

  • MUSE is for anyone that considers themselves a creative! Most attendees are photographers, models, videographers, influencers and stylists. This is an all ages event with no experience required.

  • You can either arrange a collaboration ahead of time with another creative and meet up at the event or you can come and collaborate as the event unfolds. Most attendees, in past events, have used their time networking and introducing themselves to people as they arrive. From there, they will bounce around and create with whomever is interested. MUSE is an open, unstructured event, created specifically for you to create as you please. This is a great opportunity to get out of your comfort zone, meet new people and explore new ideas!

  • The set designs and installations will be built and prepped ahead of the event. When you arrive, after checking-in, you will be able to share the sets with other attendees. They will be open for any attendee to use as they wish. Attendees are not allowed to alter, change or rearrange set designs. Each set is created with the intention of being able to have multiple attendees using them at once. Please be mindful of all attendees whilst using any sets. We will be monitoring each set to ensure everyone has equal opportunities to create with them.

  • Models are not hired for the event. If you wish to work with any models please arrange this ahead of time or network and collaborate with any that attend. There is usually a 50/50 split between photographers and models in attendance!

  • Every and anyone that plans on attending MUSE will need their own ticket. This includes models.

  • Your ticket to MUSE will allow you access to the entire duration of the event where you will have creative freedom to use all set designs, installations and/or the entire venue.

A huge priority of ours is to make creating with larger set designs and resources more accessible for creatives to work with. To produce an editorial or photoshoot, at market value, at the scale of MUSE would cost a creative anywhere from $1,000-$7,000. Attending MUSE allows you access to multiple concepts and high-end venues at a fraction of the market value cost.

  • Come ready to meet new people, network and create outside of your comfort zone. It’s best to come with an open mind and allow yourself the freedom to get creative and experiment with the concepts provided during each event

Models should arrive photo ready with hair and makeup done, as well as ready to go in their outfit. Places to change outfits are not guaranteed.

Photographers should arrive with their gear ready to go. We do NOT recommend bringing free standing equipment (i.e. stands, lighting etc.) as the heavy flow of foot traffic could result in someone bumping into your items. Review the mood boards and concepts to prepare any personal mood boards or shot-lists that you may want to have on hand to maximize your time at the event. If you are working with a model and wish to have outfit changes, please bring a pop-up changing tent in case changing rooms are not available at the location.

  • All photographers must obtain consent to photograph any models at the event and receive consent to post any images taken. Please take your time to discuss with your models what your ideas are while shooting. MUSE does not provide model release forms, so it is expected that any photographers who attend provide these forms to the models they collaborate with.

It is very important that we as a community create empowering, uplifting and safe environments for all models and creatives. We thank you for your help and efforts in making this possible.
