This project is a video and photo documentary to hold all of who you are. Our selected group of individuals will reflect stories across a multitude of backgrounds, showcase diverse individuality and empower you to show up for yourself in a new light. The video portion of our documentary will highlight individuals’ stories, while the images will act as visual poetry; aiming to capture the raw beauty in each of us.
There is no fee to participate in this project.
Project Commitments
Community Night, March 22nd 2025 6-8pm in Minneapolis. Documentation Days, March 29th 2025 and March 30th 2025 in Minneapolis.
We ask all participants to ensure their availability and commitment to these dates prior to submitting.
All participants will be asked to write a Love Letter to Self. This will be filmed but is not required to be shared. This is solely for you, whether or not you want to share it with others we’ll leave up to you. This letter will be your intention to self, your promises and your voice. Let all past parts of self hear you and all future parts hold you. We believe in the power of vulnerability. When you give yourself permission to show up, you give others the strength to do the same. Lean into it if it calls to you.
During our documentation days, each participant will be in studio with our team for one hour. We will film an interview-style video giving your voice a platform to be heard and your story a place to be held. We will photograph you and provide three images in return. One portrait and two images that capture your expression of self. There will be no set design, no artificial lighting, no retouching, no wardrobe requirements or shot-list. The studio will be your blank canvas. Come as you are, or however you want to be. We aim to strip back all labels and conformality, and photograph you at your truest, simplest state. To provide you with a mirror to come back to yourself. Although we have a timeframe, we want to allow you to move at your own pace. This will be a slow and intentional space to allow you to sink into the emotions you wish to embody. No rush. No expectations.
